The Presidency and the whole national association welcomes with joy the appointment of Archbishop Domenico Sigalini, bishop of Palestrina, to Chaplain General of Italian Catholic Action, expressing gratitude to the Episcopal Conference, the Secretariat of State and His Holiness Benedict XVI. The decision to call a bishop to carry out this ministry confirms the special bond between Catholic Action and the Church, and is an eminently ecclesial recognition of the association, which gives us cause for further commitment and shared responsibility.
Right now our most cordial welcome to Mgr. Domenico Sigalini is associated with a gratitude towards Bishop Francesco Lambiasi, for the services performed in recent years. The pastoral sensitivity, generosity proposals, the ability of involvement, knowledge of the Italian Church, and the experience gained by Bishop Sigalini in Catholic Action, first as diocesan assistant (1980-1991), then as as Deputy Chaplain General (2001-2005), so certainly fruitful will accompany the spiritual life of the Association, who was preparing to celebrate the thirteenth meeting in conjunction with the memory of the anniversary of the founding CXL,
a particularly important moment in the journey of the Italian Church and in life Country
The words of Msgr. Sigalini to "his" diocese, Palestrina, and AC :

"Dear dear Prenestina and Catholic Action, the feelings that I feel these days are grateful to God manifest in the goodness that I surround myself with affection, esteem and expectation. I accepted with enthusiasm about three years ago to the Bishop of Palestrina, I feel a great responsibility, both for the affection and the generous cooperation of the people and priests, and because it is the last Italian diocese that Pope John Paul II entrusted to a bishop, with his signature for me in the big picture of God to have His Church. now Pope Benedict at the same time sends me to another assignment and assigned me as Assistant General of Italian Catholic Action that I have always served as priest, in its various forms. I know that the commitment is hard, because the diocese is a family that requires dedication, without ifs and buts and AC at the same time expected by the General Guide to the sanctity of life and generous service to the church and the Italian company.
Let me back up a statement a few sentences, I knew just a month ago, a modest association provincial '40s. The village was of 2000 inhabitants, in the diocese and the province of Brescia, where I was born, made Christian and ordained a priest. He says the minutes of January 22, 1943: Proceedings of a surprise since this meeting instead of following the normal order: call, reading the reports, some of them back, this time it came suddenly into an argument that gave rise to debate and unexpected ... '... that happened (a partner) came out with a question: why does God allow people or families that we are good to have more having to endure more misery? The minutes of the meeting the week after separate reports in addition to a collection among the members for the funeral and the commemoration of the good man who was my father Augustine, who left four children of which I was the last six months of life. The meeting then continued with the play of another paragraph of the Christmas message of Pope Pacelli also why in my episcopal coat of arms is the radial cross of the AC. My faith goes from there.
I'm happy to offer my service to Catholic Action, which has always decided to go and lay roads sanctity of "collaborating with the hierarchy, keeping the language a bit 'dated that it may well be translated as" co-responsibility with the pastors ". I spend because this lay vocation is always generous, clear and copy ..
Continue to the bishop of Palestrina allow me to be rooted in a local community, to continue serving the people Prenestine, like many of our assistants to diocesan associations their parishes and as many lay people who serve the AC the commitment lay their profession. And that God does not ever make me miss his grace "
